ONLY AN IRRESPONSIBLE GIRL: SOUND OFF ON BATTABOX'S INTERVIEW WITH NAIJA GIRLS

...Battabox.com has been making headlines because of their interview with Nigerian girls on how many boyfriends they can have...

While many people find this interview hilarious, I would like to sound off on how disappointed I was in a lot of these Emere looking girls (you know the ones, with the overly fake hair, fake and excessively long eyelashes who sport fake Louis bags all day everyday)


First of all, no self respecting girl would date multiple guys not to mention go on camera to discuss it...Many may even like to think these girls were paid to say these things...and that is something I highly doubt because the reality is I've unfortunately been around girls like these before who incidentally were dating guys who were dating other girls too...

(FOR EXAMPLE: I went out with an old friend and some other people in Abj recently, and he brought this one girl and introduced her as his girlfriend. Then the next time we all went out, he brought another girl and introduced her as his girl too and told me not to say anything. I felt really bad because I liked the first girl and she was gorgeous. As I got  to know the girl, I found out that she schooled in another state in Nigeria and she came around to Abuja for holidays and had multiple BFs in school and also in abj as well..I was soooo mad for feeling bad for her and wanting to tell her about my cheating friend in the first place. They actually deserved each other.Long story short, I cut off ties with all of them.

The girls in the Battabox.com interviews were interviewed on campuses (meaning they are all young girls probably away from home and dating guys in every zone they end up. For the most part, they all said that dating more than one guy is appropriate (mainly because of the money they can get from all parties). The ones that said they date a guy who's smart and educated on the side don't make sense because if you are a responsible person, those are the qualities you should look for initially and not just the money.

THEY ARE ALL ROGUES!!!!......

In a few years, these would be the same girl saying men are no good and going to the mountain to pray that God sends them a husband..SMH

Battabox should probably go back to these girl and see how many are married, baby mamas, or even worse.....

Even Heathens Should go to church too...and here's why

Millions of people go to church for many reasons apart from God. And to seriously born again christians, it can be a little irritating to know that people gather at your respective church not to seek the God you came to seek after, but to pick up a chick, or to sell their jewelry or whatever..lol...

However, there seem to be some good advantages of going to church even when you're not a real Christian....

A recent poll by Gallup showed that "churchgoers" not only experienced more positive emotions but also less negative emotions than people who do not regularly attend church, synagogue, or mosque. 

 1. Friends.
2. Community.
3. Activities and events. 
4. Child care. 
5. Family values. Church is a great place to get moral reinforcement. It's no secret that pop culture, everyday life, and even just our own negativity can be a drag on our ideal personal standards.
6. Motivation. Imagine the hope that comes out of the belief that the creator of this universe not only loves you but has a plan for your life. When you go to and belong to a church, you are exposed to a way of thinking that ultimately affects how you see the world, yourself, and others. 
7. Opportunities to help others. 
8. Routine. 

Even though we want to question existence and God, at the end of the day if we serve him and he ends up being real or fake...then its a win win situation...but if you dont serve God and you find out later that he was real all along...then hey.."woe unto you." LOL

ATHEIST SUMMER CAMP ???

What in the Heavens> or Should I say 'Hell'? 

This is not your traditional summer camp where you get to eat Sloppy Joes and roast marshmallows by the fireside. 

Just north of Seattle. This unbelievable summer camp is   for "atheists or children of atheists, self-described "freethinkers" or people not otherwise traditionally religious." The first Camp Quest started in 1996 in Kentucky with just 20 people. Camp Quest Northwest, which opened this summer, is the 15th Camp Quest location with over 620 people enrolled this year. 

Those who attend the Atheist Summer Camp aka Camp Quest Northwest (such a befitting name) apparently believe that they are in Heaven on Earth.

At the camp, they encourage their campers to read the bible and go to church. "The best way to become an atheist is to study the Bible, and I definitely recommend the kids do that," says Chuck Wolber, one of Camp Quest Northwest's founders.

I cant argue with the camp's peaceful teachings and freedom of expression, all I can say is .... Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God."- Psalm14:1 (P.S they probably already know this scripture since they do read the bible)

SHOULD YOU LIVE IN UKRAINE WHILST BLACK?

It is unfortunate that racism is still very much on the rise in 2012. People are becoming more hateful, and radical in the expression of their hate.

While racism is alive in many countries all over the world, countries like the Czech Republic and Ukraine seem to have law enforcement on their side to support hateful behavior fueled by racism

I know many people who have gone to these places and have had stories to tell about being treated negatively because they were black.

The recent story of young Nigerian student OLAOLU FEMI...WHO IS IN DANGER OF BEING SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON BY THE UKRANIAN AUTHORITIES FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER, WHEN HE WAS ONLY TRYING TO DEFEND HIMSELF AGAINST 4 MEN AND TWO WOMEN WHO BASICALLY ATTACKED HIM BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK.. is fueling anger all across the board.

FACTS: 

-Olaolu Sunkanmi Femi and one of his friends were physically and verbally attacked in front of his apartment by four - --Ukrainian young men and two women who pulled them to the ground while hurling racist slurs on them.

- Sunkanmi managed to get up and defended himself against the assailants with a glass from a broken bottle. - Olasunkanmi has been in prison since then (7 months) without trial.

U.S. FANS WANT BANKY W ARRESTED

EME Fans in the US are angered after a show is suddenly cancelled. The show which was supposed to be held today in Oakland California, was a part of Wizkid’s 2012 North American Tour.

In response, some fans are calling for the arrest and prosecution of Empire Music head Banky W. According to them, this isn’t the first show to be cancelled. Banky W called off his July 2011 show stating that fellow empire mates Wiz Kid and Skales had been denied US visas. This was again after fans had already  bought their tickets, some which have allegedly never been refunded.

EME fans want Banky W. and the rest of his crew to get it together and stop organizing shows that are beyond their reach.  Fans are insisting that they receive their refunds immediately for the cancelled show which is scheduled to take place today or legal action will be pursued.

Banky W has not responded so far and I can understand him not wanting to fans sometimes don’t understand that the artists don’t have a choice to cancel performances. Many times US promoters make deals with artists which they can’t follow through, which often causes the artists to pull out of a show no matter how late it is. Maybe we should be asking Royal Entertainment what the deal is....

In the meantime we'll just wait and see what happens……

JONATHAN'S PRESIDENCY IS HEARTBREAKING FOR THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE

 Hilary Clinton recently had a visit to Nigeria, and in a statement she said, "We've seen elections that were free and fair, a government working to institute transparency and reform, admirable leadership in regional and global affairs.”

Actions have always spoken louder than words and since President Goodluck Jonathan entered office in 2011, there has been little evidence that him and his administration are working to institute much transparency. Simply said, we still don’t know where the country’s money is going.

The Nigerian people are plagued weekly with new cases of bribes, injustice in the criminal justice system and stagnant development nationwide. And with Boko Haram and many other social economic woes released on the nation, it is very painful that a leader who was elected by the people in a so called “free and fair election is not shedding more despair on its people. An example is the recent report that the Federal Government bought 200 new exotic cards for the African First Ladies Summit which recently just ended in Abuja. Of course, the claims have been refuted by refuted by the government. What a surprise right?

According to the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, Coscharis Motors Ltd offered to provide some cars for the event at no cost to the African First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM) or the Federal Government of Nigeria.

First of all, why did the AFLPM need luxury cars if they are actually running a peace mission as they claim? Second of all, why would one of Africa’s foremost motor dealership provide vehicles at no cost?

Nigeria is a country where hundreds of fake NGOs exist and many of the genuine ones are currently under investigation. When contracts are given out to businesses, whoever is executing the contract usually triples the cost of whatever service is being done. Corporations in Nigeria never do things for free. Even if a corporation is to do something pro-bono, they are most likely going to receive something worth more than what they are doing for free or a contract worth way more than the free service.

It’s very heartbreaking to see the young and old hawking snacks on the streets while presidential convoys are passing them like they are not part of the legs that our nation stands on.

Goodluck Jonathan, his wife and the entire administration continue to prey on the sensitivity of its people. However, if in fact the stories we here about them and their exorbitant expenditures are indeed false lies, then they need to do a better job of making that clear to the people via the things the say, because the things they do are not making them look good at all. Convoys, lavish dinner meetings, outrageous car purchases don’t speak well about a country where majority of the people are living below poverty.

I support Goodluck Jonathan..and always have...so pls make me and the rest of our people proud and get it together!

MICHAEL PHELPS SHINES IN LOUIS VUITTON AD

Michael Phelps's name would have never cross my mind in the 'pool' of high fashion models. So I was quite surprised to see this print ad of Phelps posing with a leather Louis Duffle bag. However, this ad of the 22 time Olympic medal older screams classy champion all the way. Michael Phelps looks handsome in this photograph shot by ANne Leibovitz and the leather goods manufacturing company Louis Vutitton, couldn't have chosen a better candidate.

Banker Kills LASTMA Official? FOWL

On Friday August 10, 2012, News began to circulate that Mother of three and Stanbic IBTC Bank Employee, Yinka Johnson killed LASTMA official, Hammed Balogun, while trying to evade the LASTMA officials. Media and news have already condemned Johnson and she is currently in prison with one of her babies, who is just two months old.

However, with this story, there is news that there were eye witnesses who saw the whole thing and that Johnson didn't in fact hit Mr. Balogun and that it was a Danfo bus that fatally hit him.


EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS STORY SMELLS FOWL AND IT BREAKS MY HEAR FOR MY COUNTRY, WHICH CANT SEEM TO GET ALMOST EVERYTHING IN VIRTUALLY ALL OF ITS SECTORS RIGHT.

The first time I read this story, I couldnt get over the fact that the 'suspect' had infact already been arrested, when indeed there are eyewitnesses who have different stories...

Where is the due process owed to Yinka Johnson? *(Why was she arrested with a two month baby?
Why is she already being condemned without a proper investigation (if there are witnesses who saw something else)?
If she indeed ran over a man and killed him, where is the evidence on her vehicle (blood, marks etc) and why dont we have the right investigate teams to properly examine evidence?

This is 2012, and Nigeria is still a country where people are afraid to call in road accidents, murders, injuries and any other harms to individuals because you can be arrested on the spot if you happen to be on the scene. I can remember being in Nigeria last year and seeing many bodies lying on the ground with people just by passing them because they didnt want to be accused of what they didnt do.

 People dont trust law officials in Nigeria to fight for their rights and for their safety. Many LASTMA (Lagos State Traffic Management Authority) officials are also known for terrorising citizens in order to get money out of them. Also the Lekki expressway is always full of crowds, danfo buses, and heavy congestion, so this whole story would have made more sense if there was more time given before officials arrested Johnson.
Personally, I dont have anything against LASTMA officials or all Nigerian officials, but I think for now I would have to believe Yinka Johnson is innocent until proven guilty, because this whole story smells foul.

Yinka Johnson is a perfect target for people like the LASTMA officials because of her car; job and status. And unfortunately for people like Yinka Johnson who have these things in Nigeria that are associated with affluence, you will always be a target for the (JEFS) jealous, envious, and frustrated.

If Yinka Johnson did kill Mr. Hammed Balogun (RIP) then I hope she gets prosecuted to the full extent of the law (well not really cus Nigerian laws are wicked and make no damn sense) and may the peace that passeth all understanding comfort the deceased's family.

 Just imagine being stuck on third mainland bridge after having dun dun from a local yam seller.

 A friend and I were having a conversation the other day about Lagos Traffic. It is one of the worst in the world. I have been in that traffic for more than 3 hrs several different times.

Jokingly he said, "I wonder how many people have actually crapped on themselves while being stuck in that traffic."

But its actually a good question. How many people have actually peed, or crapped on themselves or found other means of releasing body items apart from the standard getting out of the car and peeing on the road.

THE REAL REASON WHY AFRICAN MEN LIKE PLUMP WOMEN

A new study published by the open-access journal Public Library of Science (PLoS) has found that men who are more stressed prefer rounder, thicker and plumper women. In comparison to men who are stress-free, men under stress  find heavier women more attractive.

ALL AFRICAN MEN ARE STRESSED!!! 10 out of every 10 African man is stressed!

First of all, they are in the most stressful country in the world ( I would be stressed too if all of  me was underdeveloped as well) . Secondly,  African men experience heavy pressure to be the provider of all that is good, even in the midst of corrupt governments, bad economies and so much other jati jati (mess). So after  long day of searching for bushmeat and money, they don't wanna come home to sticks. They need some flesh to play around with...

These are some few words you might hear thrown around. Some of them I was recently introduced to while I was doing my NYSC in Nigeria...For my real proper, proper naija folk, please feel free to add to these and i'LL slot them in.

   

   1)           It’s not your fault.

Translation:  It’s completely and totally your fault but I really don’t know who I can attribute your level of incompetence to.

2)      Are you ok?

Translation: What in the bloody hell is wrong with you?

3)      I have been awarded a contract

Translation: My company will be supplying computers that cost $600 a piece for $4,000 a piece

4)      Am I your mate?

Translation: We are not even the same age so how dare you talk to me like that

5)      You are a witch

Translation: your behavior is so disgusting that your birth must have taken place in the rivers of dark shit

6)      God dey

Translation: May you suffer a millon times for what you have done to me

7)      Which way forward?

            Translation: Are we going to continue to fight every time we see each other or are we gonna act              

             mature and move on

8)      You have fallen my hand

Translation: You have disgraced me and brought my level of trust in you to a record low

Born TO DIE by Lana Del Rey happens to be the name of one of my favorite albums this summer.

So I just thought I'd  let everyone who cares know what BORN TO DIE is translated to in Yoruba (Nigeria)

The Nigerian people generally don't like using this word around pregnant women and with other women in because it could give them ideas of a still birth 

You cant be mad at the album title though, because indeed we were all 'Born To Die.'

Anyways LANA DEL REY IS an excellent singer and the album is very unique. It talks about relationships, sadness, love and all the crazy things we young people get into...

So if you ever get the chance to get the album..pls do!!

 Have you ever been one of those people who tell others, “I don’t really go out like that.” Then on the day you decide to go out, you run into like ten different people around the same time. “Thought you said you don’t go out,” they’d probably snipe.  Well it’s not fun to have to explain yourself to so many different people. The truth is that as long as you are not doing anything wrong, you owe no one an explanation. 

DO CORPORATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS REALLY SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE OR IS IT JUST A BUSINESS SAVING THING?

I was reading an article recently where Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos and his wife have pledged $2.5 million to a PAC defending Washington state’s same-sex marriage law.

Amazon is one of the largest online retailers in the world selling everything from books to clothes. I wonder how many millions of dollars in revenue they would lose if they stood up against gay marriage. On the other hand, I wonder how many millions they would gain as well if they stood against gay marriage?

When Chick Fil A’s president Dan Cathy spoke against Gay marriage, many went nuts. including the overt gay people themselves or those who had gay loved ones and friends. I often wonder how many people

How many individuals and corporations can actually come out and speak against gay marriage without worrying about the consequences. I am very sure that there are hundreds of companies and individuals who have the same exact opinion as Dan Cathy and Chick Fil A. The question is …can their risk the pockets of their businesses and take a stand? Only time will tell.

One thing is sure and it is that America is a sentiment driven country. We always want to be diplomatic and please everybody even though pleasing everybody for some will always mean displeasing God.

…Millions of people should ask themselves they are supporting gay marriage. Is it because your gay friend might hate you if they find out your views don’t line up with theirs or that your August sales will go down if the LGBT community finds out that you don’t support their cause?

I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. (Ezekiel 22:30)

Dan Cathy is N (ONE)of the many God is looking for to stand in the gap. I’m sure God is smiling on Dan Cathy and Chick Fil A and he is sure not to put the company, their sales, or anyone else who stands on his word to shame!!
